Radio 4 article about social networks in business

Worth listening to and only a few minutes. What should employers do about employees complaining about customers on Facebook?

The onus needs to shift to individual responsibility. People have to realise that anything you write, even this comment on this network, is public. And what you write is "out there" for a long time. If you want to rant about anyone, yell at a wall, DO NOT WRITE IT DOWN ANYWHERE. That's just plain stupid.

But on the flip side it supports the fact that these discussions happen so get them in your own house but, and this is critical, allow them to happen!

Good interview by Matt Rhodes. The problem is that the pesky media doom merchants, still only look for the bad in all these things. So any single event like Tescos or Waitrose facebook issues, are being blown out of proportion.
I am sure there are many companies that would consider taking the step into social media, but are put off by the few bad stories that the media jump all over.

As with all the job losses hype, the media are in danger of stifling any form of growth and inventiveness. They simple just want to paint the blackest picture they can!

My message......become a non-believer......don't believe the press!! (sounds like a facebook group in the making there!!)
