Adding your photo to a social networking site encourages more networking. That’s one of the reasons Linkedin added its
photo facility last September.
To get the most out of this network, you need to add your photo.
I can hear many of you now: "But I don’t have a photo". My advice is to get one that you are happy with, because everything is digital these days and you will need one sooner or later.
Here are some easy ways to do it:
1. Take a new cheap and cheerful photo -- get your digital camera and have a colleague or partner take a photo. If you don’t have one, HR usually has a camera. Use it.
2. Crop an old photo -- most photo software these days has an easy-to-use cropping facility. The photo I use was taken at
Le Manior, I just cropped it.
3. Use an image. Want to be a
green dog? Type in whatever you want to be into google with the word image: “green dog image” and see what you get.
4. Get a professional photo taken. This will cost about £400. I know some great
photographers if you need one.
As an added bonus, I’ll send a FREE copy of our
new graduate recruiting guide to anyone who adds a photo in July.
An even better incentive is that anyone that DOES NOT HAVE A PHOTO will have to go on a
race with Peter!
